NC: Only One Top 20 2011 Prospect

It's not North Carolina's nature to have a lot of Men's high school basketball players ranked among the top 20 in the nation. Well, the story continues as basketball season winds down and college basketball hopefuls finish up signing their next four years away. Last year it was Reggie Bullock from Kinston, NC who stayed in state to attend North Carolina University. In 2009, according to CBS owned MaxPreps, North Carolina produced two top 20 prospects in John Wall who took his talents to Kentucky and Ryan Kelly who chose one of the most consistent programs in the nation, Duke.
This year's NC kid is 6'9 PF/SF Quincy Miller. Miller attended Westchester Academy in High Point, NC and is ranked number four by  Maxpreps. Miller has committed to Baylor and hopes to find a spot among all its length and athleticism. Will Quincy Miller be North Carolina's next college star and/or NBA star? You predict.

  1. I see you DJ, doing the preps sports thing. Big ups....but what about my dude Dominique Pointer from Quality Ed Academy in Winston-Salem ranked 16th nationally and is a beast. Watched him at the 2010 Nike Global Challenge and have video if you're interested.

Also, couldn't PJ Hairston be included in the top 20 mix as an NC kid even though he moved to VA for his senior year. Worth a mention nonetheless, he was doing Dudley (Greensboro) proud and will be a Tar Heel next year.

    Stay up,
    Mike
